Blackbird Designs: A Quaker Garden



Yes it is me again. I know it has been ages since I've posted but I somehow lost interest.

What happened since my last post. Well I had a very succesful year as President of the International Women's Club and stepped down at the end of June. Most of our holidays were spend in our new holiday home in The Netherlands. It was good fun to re discover all these things from back home. Don't forget we have moved over 18 years ago and the only visits we had were spend seeing family & friends. Now we went for cycling tours, did the tourist things like a canal trip in Amsterdam and a visit to the Anne Frank House. Also worked on improving the house. We have a new pavement as well as new borders in front of the house. Next Spring we will do a re design of the garden.


Our DD is now almost 10 and just started school again in group 4. Time sure does fly! Our time in Ireland is almost done and I think we move again in the first half of 2007. I sure will miss Ireland and the many friends we have here but I do look forward to a new challenge. That said it depends where the company sends us of course:-)

This month my Yoga classes start again and as I've got more free time I've decided to start golf lessons and I'll go back to school to improve my French. Lots of plans!

Over the last few months I had more time to get back to my hobby stitching. I've made progress on a few projects as well as finished a few!!

I'm terrible in updating my blog. Time just seems to fly and before I realize another month has gone by. We are now well in 2006 and am back home since 3 weeks from our holiday in The Netherlands.

It was great to spend time in our home there and we had lots of snow as well. My husband wasn't that fortunate as he fell in the snow and broke his wrist!

Also I was able to go to one of Annemiek her open days and managed to spend some more money on stash. It is so much fun to browse and see all these shop models. Like I said earlier we don't have any shops here in the Dublin area and all my needlecraft shopping is done via the internet.

I've been stitching on a design of Annemiek called Sampler Heart and it came out lovely. Now I need to get the sewing machine out and put it together. Also I've been trying to catch up with Essie's Friends from Elegant Stitch.
